MERC is the volunteer Organization that Supports the Office of Emergency Management Monroe County

Mission Statement

Monroe Emergency Reserve Corps comprised of volunteer member teams, who are trained in basic life, safety  and emergency preparedness skills. MERC is community based, whose  purpose is to assist the county of Monroe, Florida and its residents in  the event of a major incident or large scale disaster, whether man-made  or natural.


Vision Statement

Beginning with  ourselves, we will be prepared to work together as emergency response  teams to assist our families, neighbors and community in a time of  disaster or need through volunteer services which protect life,  environment and property. We are committed to providing the best public  service through education, training and volunteer service. Our vision is  to support 1st responders with trained volunteers that organize  themselves at the time of disaster or need and provide immediate  assistance.

    



UPCOMING CLASSES & TRAININGS to obtain New or Lapsed Placard

Due to the continuing COVID-19 epidemic all in person classes has been officially canceled.
Once the epidemic is handled Emergency Management and MERC will work to schedule the needed 1st time Placard holder training classes 

 including the first and first aid hands on.
At this time we are unable to schedule any classroom space as all buildings are closed and no reopen dates have been announced.

 Be sure to check back for new classes after the stay at home order is lifted
